The new multi-year deal with strategic partners Zurich and Hiscox will support Pen’s specialist property insurance practice – which provides cover for a large mid-net worth portfolio as well as homes with unusual features or occupancy that are difficult to place within a standard market – with effect from 1 April 2026.
New agreement builds on more than 35 years of continuous collaboration across the UK and Ireland in support of highly specialist fleet risks, with enhanced levels of underwriting and claims authority and the scope of deal extended to include Pen’s broader fleet portfolio, including its passenger transport specialism.
As of today, Wrightway Underwriting will be known as Pen Underwriting Ireland as the Wexford-based business completes its integration into the Pen family and establishes a strong, unified platform for future growth and product diversification.
New structure retains Pen’s distinct marine underwriting specialisms, with dedicated leaders promoted from within the business to assume individual responsibility for portfolio management and performance, while introducing pan-practice roles to drive operational excellence and underpin strategic growth.
