Pen Underwriting has increased its investment in dedicated regional support for brokers, welcoming two new business development managers since the turn of the year. The move also ramps up capability in geographic areas with strong growth potential as Pen builds on its ambition to become a £1bn GWP underwriting and distribution business.
Dan Walker has been appointed as Business Development Manager for the North West, a newly created role to provide focused support for brokers in the area due to its significant growth opportunities. While Andy Helliwell has joined Pen this week as Business Development Manager for the Midlands, to further enhance the broker support dedicated to the region. Both will report to Nick Hewland, Area Sales Manager for Midlands & North.
Dan joins Pen from RSA in Manchester, having previously worked for Allianz in a business development role. Andy joins from Broker Insights where he was a senior business development manager bringing 20 years’ industry experience and having held a variety of senior roles across sales and broking.
Nick Hewland said: “Dan and Andy are fantastic additions to our team in the North West and Midlands, bringing great local knowledge, strong market relationships and huge enthusiasm for enabling brokers to trade right across the breadth of Pen’s products. With both bringing a blend of industry experience, they are brilliantly positioned to develop our broker relationships in the regions and ensure Pen continues to meet its mission of being easy to do business with.”
Nick Milton, Head of UK Sales & Distribution at Pen Underwriting, added: “At a time of great challenge for so many industries across the UK, it’s important to continually invest in our support of brokers. We’re here to make sure they have the right risk solutions and services to help them support our mutual customers in taking their businesses in a new direction, right-sizing to fit the current testing conditions and improving their resilience. We’re delighted to welcome Dan and Andy to our growing Pen team.”
Since its creation in 2015, Pen has invested in its own regionally-focused UK Sales & Distribution team.
